..useful for His glory….
07/02/2010
God made us to bring glory for Him in all that we do. God created us for His glory, but do we have the same goal that God created us?
I am being a blessing to others and helping other come to know God, like He wants me to do?
Joshua relied on God and God used Joshua to prosper his country and bless the people of israel.
When you rely on God, you:
recognize His power and His supremacy
trust Him
consult with Him in all things
know His direction and His blessings
In Ps 32:8 David reminds us how the Lord will help us when we rely on God:
He will instruct you.
He will teach you in the way you should go.
He will guide you with His eyes.
"When Jesus is in your heart, God uses you for His glory" was the subject we discussed in the girls Bible study.
The girls began to understand the meaning of this, and that the purpose of relying on God is not for self gain, or to win something, or to have good words from other people, but the purpose is that God will work through our lives in way to bring glory to Him!
....memorial stones…...
05/24/2010
A lot of the times when we face new challenges, the unknown, when we're afraid of not knowing what's going to be like, how it's going to be like... God is telling us just as He told Joshua:
“I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not abandon you...
Be strong and courageous... Study this Book of the Law
continually. Meditate on it day and night
so you may be sure to obey all that is written in it.
Only than you will succeed... Do not be afraid or discouraged.
For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1: 5-8
And then how should we feel? Isn't He the omnipotent, omniscient and His goodness... and isn't His love without any limitation?!...............The only thing we should do is to hide in His arm and to believe Him... then... just as i told the girls from the bible study... to put memorial stones of the mighty works that He, God has done for us, or through us in others peoples lives.
At the end of our bible study time i heard one of the girls prayer that sounded like this:
“Lord you know that i didn't wanted to come today, but i want to thank You for sending M to me and that she convinced me... thank you for this evening.”
It was the moment when i felt that God has worked in her life... and at the end i could say to her “now put a memorial stone... and you too M, because God used you.” (the girls got a piece of paper and some stickers to use them as memorial stones whenever they see God's work.)
It was a blessed evening... i like to take small things from a lot of places i go as a reminder …... but i haven't put yet any memorial stones of God's works... and i would love to do it from now on!
promises….
04/29/2010
In an unsecure world people are looking for safety.... in many situations hanging on others (powerfull) promises that are more strong wealthy. Although lots of promises are not being fulfiled and bring withit sadness, disappointment and even depression into peoples hearts.
Together with girls from the Bible Study I looked at God's promises. The Bible it's full of promises.Spurgeon found 365 promises...... for each day of the year....We saw toghether fullfiled promises and others that waits to be fullfiled......We shared experiences in wich we saw God's fullfuled promises into our lives and we remembered Numbers 22:19
To see His fullfiled promises it's important to not forget the Lord ;to keep our focus with heaven and our fellowship with Him.
What do we do when we see His fullfiled promises?
Let's not stay indifferently, but be involved.....and bring thanks as a sacrifice. Ps.50:14
May God help me!
a changeable spring…..
03/19/2010
....with flowers and snowflakes, with sun rays and frost that freezes the nose ......... so similar to the peoples souls!
A lot of the times I wonder how can we worry about things and be displeased when so many times we've been experienced God's goodness and grace. We're like Peter that started to walk on water gladly ….. but when he lost sight from the Lord, he lost his balance and he started to drown.
Although I'm a lit a bit disappointed by the way the Bible Study meetings goes with the girls, ….. I was very glad to hear Mariana (Sunny) telling the amazing way God opened “little gates” for her to investigate her health. He has put people in her way to help her, doctors that helped her and what was more amazing for me, ….. was that Mariana saw them as people that were sent by God in her way.
Last evening we had a moment when the girls had to share an experience that they've gone through and how they saw the Lord working in their lives. I noticed that a lot of them shared experienced they had in the past when they saw God helping them …... times when in despair they saw God's help.
My challenge for them was to seek everyday to see in little things, that we often forget …....... God's help and the encouragement that comes from the Lord of Glory!
We're all amazed when God does amazing things for us! … and we thank Him and we're grateful, but each day is different and if we don't see God's help in big things, we're just like this spring ….. today sun ….. tomorrow snowflakes ….. again sun, again freezing days ….. and these things stays longer in our minds, which is sad, but if we look everyday for God's blessings rays that pours God's help in our lives, I think we would be more happy, more grateful, we would look for more, we would be more nice ….
I pray that these girls will experience this thing ….... I think that it will also change the way we read from the Bible ….. and whole our lives, knowing that day by day, moment by moment, He the Lord of Glory holds us, protects us, walks with us, talks with us and through us …..
Jesus said “.... I am with you everyday of your lives, till the end of the world.” isn't that wonderful?!
....do you learn by playing?.......
02/09/2010
Who doesn't like to play? Though we're "older"..... the atmosphere of the relaxed game and full of charm draws us, and within the competitive and excitement of game we manage to learn something useful for life......it's even better!
For a knoeledge lesson of our country, the use of map, in order to learn how to find the direction that we want, looking in the north part, south, east and west....I created a game using a dice! So, I put a Romania map on the table, the dice, a set of colored notes that were drawing you to see what they were hiding....and a few rules:
-
look for the town on the note
-
ask us to tell you a name of a town that you have to find on the map (we'll help you with direction "on the nord part....")
-
look for three towns, whatever you want
-
you're saved!
-
show us the town you're coming from!
-
say something about your country!
The number that the dice indicates you when roll it, shows you the rule you have to apply. Every time you answer correctly you accumulate points! Around the table sitting was Catalina, Silvia, I also invited Mariana to play knowing that she could tell the girls a lot of things about our country......and me.
The excitement of the girls made me think that in the same way from every joyous moment God wants us to learn something useful for our lives here and there. But are we always open for that? ........By playing the girls learned how to use the map without thinking that we were on a lesson time.....and in the same way God teaches us something every moment that we live. Most of the times we're ready to learn from our mistakes.... but would not be easier to learn from our joys? Every time one of the girls would roll the dice and didn't like the number(the rule) ,you would always hear "oh no, this number again!" ....and it's so true that a lot of times God wants us to go through the same moments that we might not like it..... just to teach us something !..... to draw us closer to Him, to see, to understand Him plan for our lives!
Paul tells us "Rejoyce in the Lord always!" and I pray that we have open eyes and open mind so we can learn what God wants us to by living an abundant life!
